Puget Sound EnergyPuget Sound Energy is the nation's second-largest utility-owner of wind power, having opened its Hopkins Ridge Wind Facility in 2005 and Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility in 2006. At Wild Horse, the Renewable Energy Center allows visitors to see wind turbines in operation, and also the Northwest's largest solar demonstration project. The center is open each day from April 1 through November 30, and is located east of Ellensburg in Kittitas County. Directions can be found at PSE.com. In addition, PSE's energy efficiency programs helped customers save the equivalent of 23,000 homes consumption of electricity and 4,000 homes of natural gas in 2008. |
